B. Pharm is an undergraduate academic degree in the field of pharmacy. After a B.Pharm in pharmacy there are various opportunities for students, they can either go for higher studies like M.Pharm, MBA. or Ph.D degrees for improving their skills and up gradation of their degree or they can go for jobs in the chemical companies, research institutes ,Pharma companies ,even universities and colleges.

Scope
- 1. Overseas career:
Some of the B.Pharm graduates are choosing to fly overseas and make their career bright. By scoring well in GRE, TOEFL, IELTS etc entrances they can pursue M.S, MBA and other pharmacy related courses in US, UK, Australia etc. - 2. Marketing:
There is a big scope in sales dept of pharmaceutical companies making tools and machines for research, these companies hire graduates for their marketing and sales as MR, project managers etc. Pharmaceutical MBA is most heyday in this field. - 3. Clinical research:
Recently, Clinical research has also open its door for B. Pharm graduates as medical underwriter, CRO, data validation associate, clinical research associate etc. - 4. Production & Manufacturing:
Large rate of vacancies are appearing in pharma industries for production. All the big firms invite suitable skill pharma individual in manufacturing units. - 5. Quality control:
Some government jobs like government analysis is associated with it. They have to develop, apply, revise, and maintain quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Helps in designing and implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and prepares documentation for inspection testing procedures. - 6. Scientists:
Pharma graduates can absorb as scientist in R&D and F&D. It is field of innovation where talented people in pharmacy working as scientist. Numerous researches are going on in India. - 7. Lecturer:
Usually, graduates in pharmacy can also make their career in academics. In some institutions they are eligible to work as lecturer for diploma students.
Criteria of Eligibility for Admission
- 1. Nationality:
Candidates must be citizens of India / or dependents of Non-Resident Indians - 2. Admission Requirements:
Candidates should have passed the +2 examinations of the Government of Kerala or any other course equivalent thereto with Physics , Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Biology/ Maths/ Biotechnology or Computer Science as optional subjects with a minimum of 50% marks for the optional subjects and 50% marks aggregate for all the 3 subjects put together. - 3. Age:
Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission. Self attested copy of relevant page of school record namely SSLC/ CBSE/ICSC certificate showing the date of birth/copy of the birth certificate from appropriate authority should be furnished along with the application. - 4. Duration:
The course study for the B. Pharm shall extend over a period of 4 academic years (8 semesters of six months duration each) and each academic year is spread over a period of not less than 200 working days.
The course study for the D. Pharm shall extend over a period of 2 academic years (4 semesters of six months duration each).
B.Pharm Lateral Entry:
- Academic qualifications:
Pass in Diploma in Pharmacy with a minimum of 50% marks for the second year D Pharm examination. For SEBC/OEC candidates, 5% relaxation in marks is allowed and for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying examination will be sufficient. Candidate shall have studied in an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and shall have passed the diploma examination conducted by the State Board of D Pharm Examinations or equivalent.
